Relish Organics

My name is Luke Oglethorpe and my wife Carmel and I have an organic foodstore at Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast named Relish Organics. For anyone not already familiar with our store, I’d like to introduce what we are all about and what we offer.

We started out with a stall at the Gold Coast’s only 100% organic farmers market - The Organic Gold Coast Farmers Market at Miami. I continue to man our stall there each Sunday selling bulk foods such as dried fruit & nuts, flours, seeds, pulses, rice along with groceries - everything certified organic. I guess I’m biased, but it really is a fantastic small market focused on supporting locally produced organic food. There exists a real sense of community amoungst retailers and customers.

Having lived and grown up in the Gold Coast hinterland for 20 years, we figured the area was ready for it’s own food store dedicated to stocking food that nurtures the earth and nourishes our bodies and community. We opened our store in December 2006 and have had a great response from both locals and people who travel to shop with us.

Having a keen personal interest in all things nourishing and the work of Weston A Price in particular, I have endevoured to stock many of the ingredients and products you may come across throughout the blogs of this fantastic online magazine. Amoungst many other products, we stock:

• Cleopatra’s Milk
• Sol Sourdough Breads (MON, THU and SAT only - pre-orders recommended)
• Gympie Farm cultured butter and goats cheeses - supply is quite inconsistent and when it’s in it gets snapped up very quickly!
• Organic fruit & veg including cabbage for sauerkrauting (did I just invented a new word? ;) Fresh produce days are MON and THU
• Some Pasture Perfect pork products (their delicious sausages and bacon)
• Certified organic coconut oil
• Frozen, raw Nimbin Valley goats milk
• Organic chicken frames for making stock etc.
• Grainfields fermented grain beverages
• XL fresh organic eggs

All items are subject to (sometimes inconsistent) availablity and it is best to give us a call beforehand to check what’s in stock.

We are located at the Bell Central shopping centre just 200m from the M1 motorway (pacific highway) in Mudgeeraba and we’re open 7 days. See our website for detailed directions and opening hours.
